Unacceptable! Instagram limits the amount of photos you can delete

I decided to move my photos from Instagram to a photo gallery on my website.

I still wanted to keep my account.

What option do I have?

Delete photos one by one.

It gets worse.

Instagram LIMITS the amount of photos you can delete in a day!

I'm not sure exactly how many but I think it's 8.

And guess what! If you delete the limit of photos in a day, the whole app stops working and refuses to do anything but give "couldn't refresh feed" messages.

instagram-couldnt-refresh-feed

Yup.

I currently have ~170 photos. Which means it will take a month to delete them all.

This is unacceptable.

Goodbye Stickam! Download your recorded media before 2/28

Update: Stick is dead forever :(

thank you and farewell stickam

Blahblahblah. So if you had a Stickam account, you have until 2/28 to download any recorded videos you had stored on there.

I'll post mine later ;)
(once I convert them from FLV to something useable)

download stickam recorded media

As a goodie, they've placed a "random video" code at the bottom.

It's a little annoying to refresh the page so many times.. but you never know what you're going to see!

ROTD: "Talk shit about my friends and I'll kick your ass"

everything-is-pointless

@laurakristinexo Talk shit about my friends and I'll kick your ass.

Me: @laurakristinexo that's mature

@laurakristinexo: As is talking shit in the first place.... and a snide comment on the internet.

Me: it's up to you how you react. also, matter of opinion what's snide or "talking shit"

@laurakristinexo: EXACTLY. Now keep your opinions to yourself. Lol, this conversation is completely pointless. Who even are you?
@laurakristinexo: Oh, never mind. I don't care, goodbye.

Me: you're pointless. lol

@laurakristinexo: Lmfao. I'm surprised you even knew which your/you're to use. Refer to my last tweet*.

* not sure but she tweeted SOME PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND SARCASM AND THESE PEOPLE NEED TO STAY OFF THE INTERNET.

Me: good luck with your ego problem ;)

@laurakristinexo: Lol, you don't even know me, dickwad. Why are you still talking?

Me: i do know you, actually. here's the definition for you: To know: Be aware of through observation, inquiry, or information
Me: a little humility should do you well. Do you need the definition of that too?

@laurakristinexo: Ugh, I thought I blocked you.

Me: your profile is public, genius.

*she tweets something public about trolls that i happened to see

Me: also, don't flatter yourself. I wasn't trolling you.

@laurakristinexo: Why are you going through all this trouble to try to talk to me then? You don't even follow me...

Me: it's really not troublesome.. and I was following you. When you hit the "block" button it forces the person to unfollow you

@laurakristinexo: I'm not flattered by people feeling the need to waste their time forcing their opinions onto others via the internet.
@laurakristinexo: Now, please, block me and go on with your life.

Me: and yet that's what you just did. Oh the irony!

@laurakristinexo: Because I want you to go away. Just stop, your opinions have no effect on my life.

Me: you can stop replying any time. My motives are my own and I don't need instruction from you.

@laurakristinexo: Same to you.

Me: I'm not the one with a problem. I don't mind replying. Never know what might happen.
Me: i'm surprised you even knew which your/you're to use

@laurakristinexo: And you're implying that I'M immature.. Fuck off.

Me: SOME PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND SARCASM AND THESE PEOPLE NEED TO STAY OFF THE INTERNET.

@laurakristinexo: Lol, what are you even saying?

Me: i'm saying I have no idea what you're going to say next. not all things need to be said with purpose

@laurakristinexo: "SOME PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND SARCASM AND THESE PEOPLE NEED TO STAY OFF THE INTERNET.” Ahem, you...

Me: ahem that's you twice now. just figured i'd say it in your own words so you'd understand

@laurakristinexo: I don't even know who you are and you don't know me so can we please just move on with our lives?

Me: i thought i already covered this. we do know each other. the fact that you can even communicate with me proves that.

@laurakristinexo: We don't know each other in real life. PLEASE, try to be a decent human being here and just block me.

Me: ... what are you even talking about? how would blocking you somehow make me a decent human being?
Me: do you even think about what you write?

@laurakristinexo: You are truly a piece of work.
Me: good job not answering the question.

@laurakristinexo: Yes, I do think about what I write. More than you know, further proving the fact that you do not know who am I as a person.
Me: which is why i asked you the question.. you really don't know how to talk to people, do you?
@laurakristinexo: Yes, I do. I don't have to prove anything to you.

Me: why do you keep replying?
@laurakristinexo: Because I'm trying my hardest to get you to block me so I can go on with my day.

Me: why do you want me to block you?? that makes no sense. I don't block anybody. Ever. Open communication and such.

@laurakristinexo: I want you to block me because I don't want to put my twitter on private just because you won't stop being an asshole.
@laurakristinexo: And I have no need or want to communicate with you.

Me: then why are you? you're contradicting yourself a bit.

Me: coincidentally i have no need or want to talk to you either.

@laurakristinexo: I told you why already, to try to get you to block me. Perfect. Now please, just go ahead and block me.

Me: ... you're really stuck on getting me to do something. How about YOU stop replying. Because you can only control you.

Trending dysfunctional coping skills and communication

This situation isn't unique. Here are some patterns that show up freakishly often:

- "you don't even know me"
- "i mean in real life" (as opposed to what? fake life?)
- grammar criticism. (she tried this one but I never actually made a grammar mistake)
- unfounded use of the word "asshole" or phrase "being an asshole"
- assumed hostility
- aversion to questions that provoke thought
- aversion to reasonable proof
- relying on the actions of others (I'm trying to make you block me)

What else did you notice?

My Favorite parts

"Who even are you?"
Obviously nobody reads bios anymore.

"Lmfao. I'm surprised you even knew which your/you're to use."
Wait.. were you trying to insult me.. was that a compliment or..? It's like she's trying to belittle me because my grammar was correct and it surprised her. But I'm pretty sure what she's really implying (by the surprised part) is that most people she talks to aren't capable of getting it right.

"SOME PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND SARCASM AND THESE PEOPLE NEED TO STAY OFF THE INTERNET."
... pretty sure the first thing I said was sarcastically implying what she said wasn't mature by my choice of "that's mature".

What was your favorite part?

Bonus! Phrases that mean nothing

"go on with your life"
(as opposed to......? do you think my life is stopped now?)

"I want you to go away"
(yeah, you're actually choosing to read this and I'm not physically in front of you. stop reading any time. )

"You are truly a piece of work"
(this is an obscure way of saying "you're making me think too much")

"you won’t stop being an asshole"
(usually the user is referring to some person who isn't doing or saying exactly whatever they want them to)

ROTD: Johnnathan Burris representing retard culture

Welcome to retard culture.
Where cell phone photos are "glamor shots", being gay is a look, "superficially" is the largest word they know, and the your/you're phenomenon is still widely theorized.

(look to the bottom of the image)

jonnathan burris: superficially? coming from a superficial faggot that's pretty weak. who the fuck take glamor shots of themselves? that shit is for girls. if i where you joe i would get the surgery to get whats left of you're dick taken off because you obviously want to be female. also, don't talk of superficial people because i can tell from looking at you, you are as superficial as they get,...or gay....or both. now go cry fag boy because no one wants you and you look like a faggot bitch..and next time try not to spend hours Photoshopping you're pics....if your a ugly bitch, your a ugly bitch, deal with it fag.

My favorite part is  "don't talk of superficial people because i can tell from looking at you"

Update: continued..

ohnnathan Burris You are still a faggot. I guess you where too butt hurt to reply back like a man, instead, you resorted to facebook games because you have no life or real friends. I can spell lots of words, like ignorant and arrogant. oh, and childish. you're a attention whore and all you are looking for is for people to feel bad for you and for attention you're parents never gave you. Kindly go kill yourself and do the world a favor....AND for the record I could give a fuck less about what you or your faggot enthusiast friends think. stop trying to look like a woman, or come out of the closet already....K.Thanks....

What he doesn't realize..
This is now published. Which means when he goes to apply for a job.. anyone who googles his name will now see how he treats other people. Surprise asshole!

What do we take away from this?
People's words only have weight if you let them. Don't worry so much about what people say. You know yourself better than they do.

Don't worry, this case of online bullying was a failure ;)

You're the reason our children are fat

  • Caitlyn Marriott  Lol Ginny has round thighs & cheeks and I call her chunky monkey. But weirdly enough, she eats less than Tori. Go figure.

  • Alex Christopher Davies  They can be more depressing to look at then starting children.

  • Laken Ninna  There's not much more I find depressing than people that clearly need more love in there life.

  • Joe Jiko  Love & a food supply that isn't killing them.

  • Caitlyn Marriott  Eww that kid has man boobs!

  • Shannon Nicolee Crossan  Yea being an over weight child is very depressing, being picked on and teased a lot sure doesn't wanna make you feel happy about yourself either.

  • Joe Jiko  You act like being overweight just happens.. being overweight is a choice. Always. The parents do have a role in encouraging healthy nutrition and exercise.. but ultimately it's the child who makes the choice and our culture that supports it.

  • Shannon Nicolee Crossan  That understandable, but it's not right to publicly humiliate someone just because they don't meet your "standards" of what a normal person should be.

  • Joe Jiko  my parents tell me stories of growing up.. where being fat was almost unheard of. rare. people took pride in their health and physical appearance and they were encourage to do so by their peers! what happens today? someone is lazy, unhealthy, and miserable.. and no one around them says anything. even worse, the people around them tell them to be OK with who they are, ENCOURAGE them to blame it on sources besides themselves and to avoid responsibility of their own health and actions. It's disgusting.

  • Shannon Nicolee Crossan  I was an over weight child, and strange to say I ate very healthy but I was still over weight. But it's the bullying part that fucks someone up. I'm not saying your wrong or anything. But if someone ever judged you because in their eyes you weren't their definition of perfect and they pick, and pick at you.you feel like shit. This is why suicide rates are so high.

  • Joe Jiko  You think i wasn't picked on as a kid? I was. It sucked.. I made it through and I'm glad it happened. Suicide rates aren't that high in this country & also, it's our lack of community and support that's a bigger determining factor than being "picked on" or judged.

If you eat healthy and you're still overweight it's because you're eating too much and not exercising. Simple. Being bullied or "picked on" doesn't solve the issue. What does? Education and encouraging healthy habits. Being "fat" is a symptom that can easily be remedied. It's a choice. The "standard" of what a "normal person" should be isn't really the issue. It's a biological standard of health. Your body was MADE to be a certain way. If you don't treat it right and maintain it, you will have a serious degradation of your quality of life.

So bullying aside, it is a serious health concern as well as psychological.. and it depresses me.

  • Shannon Nicolee Crossan  I'm not saying your wrong about the facts and society. My whole life I placed at least 3 sports each year. I exercised a lot,and on top of the the athletic hobbies I did. But if you were bullied, why judge someone based of their looks? Why give someone  else that pain that you had? That's what confuses me in this conversation and in this world. I know everything in this world isn't so peachy. But maybe I'm just to kind hearted. But There is a difference of telling someone and helping them out, then publicly humiliating them. That really screws a person up.i would know that personally,my adult life suffers from my childhood . I don't mean to sound so personal but I can never feel beautiful or even believe anyone when they say they love me. Sorry I just have a low tolerance for judge mental people

  • Caitlyn Marriott  Who was he publicly humiliating?

  • Joe Jiko  being fat isn't a "look" it's a state of being AND it's controllable. Your body doesn't just become fat.. you have control over what you eat.. and you ARE what you eat. You think it's kind hearted to ignore someone whose health is at risk? you are seriously misled. also, I'm publicly humiliating no one.. so if you have an issue with someone being publicly humiliated, go address it.

    • Shannon Nicolee Crossan  I didn't say you're publicly humiliating anyone? I'm saying that's what bullying is. specially so wrong to a CHILD. And what you're saying is true, for adults not children. I've changed completely. I would never judge anyone, let alone a child because of their looks.

    • Joe Jiko  We weren't even talking about bullying.. so..

    • Joe Jiko  maybe you're taking away the wrong message from this.

I don't like the state of our children's health in this country and our culture that enables it.

    • Joe Jiko  You are part of the culture that enables it.

Facebook How To: Unfriending without Unfriending

facebook allows 5000 friends which is really difficult to get on your own as facebook limits the number of friend requests you can send and also "restricts" friending people you don't already know.

This policy never made sense to me.

What's the purpose of "social networking" if you're restricted in the way of networking? my guess is they felt this would keep facebook more personal and prevent a myspace-like user abandonment catastrophe.

What is "subscribe" and how does it work?

By default, all of your "friends" are automatically subscribed to you.

what does this mean?

they see your posts in their news feed. the difference between a public subscription-or a subscription to someone you're not friends with- and a friend subscription is that your friends can see anything that you post to "friends only". Anyone with a Twitter account should already be familiar with this concept. Subscribing is like following and public posts are like public profiles. The major difference between Twitter and Facebook subscriptions is that Facebook lets you choose which of your posts are public or private. (Google+ also does this with Circles)

what is a "public" post and who can see it?

Everyone can see public posts! People who are subscribed to you will receive your posts in their news feed. If all your posts are public (like mine are) then people can effectively follow and interact with you without being your "friend".

reasons why people "unfriend" others

Problem: too many posts in your news feed
there are a few things you can do to fix this.

Solution 1: prioritize your friends' posts with smart lists
-go to your close friend's profiles and hover over the word "friends"
-choose "close friend" from the drop down menu.

Choosing the close friend option will prioritize the person's posts and activity. You can even receive a special notification whenever they do something-ensuring that you never miss out on anything your best friends do!

Solution 2: go to people you aren't close with and set their group to "acquaintances"

Choosing "acquaintance" will do the opposite of the close friend group. It will reduce the priority and frequency of the person's posts and also give you the option to restrict more personal posts from being seen by this group.

Problem: not seeing posts from important people in your life and feeling like you're losing out
Solution: prioritize your friends' posts with smart lists
-go to your close friend's profiles and hover over the word "friends"
-choose "close friend" from the drop down menu.

Problem: the person posts things you don't want to see or read
Solution:  adjust subscription to that person by category.

you can choose to only subscribe to someone's posts and unsubscribe to their photos.

Problem: worried about people seeing the more personal things you post
Solution: start putting your acquaintances in the acquaintance group

facebook allows us to put people into different "groups". if you have people who are less "friends" and more "acquaintances", there's a group for that!

once you've put people in different groups, you can target those people or restrict them from seeing your posts by choosing a filter when you create a new post

Problem: the person has never talked to you
instead of unfriending people who have never talked to you, how about taking some initiative to start a conversation and seeing if they respond? facebook's news feed actually has a setting to only show posts from people you've "interacted with recently". This means that people who you you've rarely or never interacted with may never show up! there's an arrow on the news feed that will let you adjust this so show "most recent results". try interacting with new people and my guess is you'll be quite happy with the results!

I have a "no deletion" policy when it comes to anything digital. However, if someone shows that they're not interested in me or my life, I'll adjust my settings so that facebook knows they aren't as important to me. Pro tips ;)

I hope you've found something useful in this. If you have any questions or additional tips to share, leave a comment!

"Why are you defending rape?"

Are we living in a culture of fear? Discuss in the comments.

Here's the text version..

Me: Bum a stranger's phone

Psch around here, you'd get raped

Me: face your fears

Hah, I'll pass. I want my baby to live

Me: rape doesn't equal death. lol your other option is getting fired/being raped in the wallet. so..

Lol if you get beat? most stories of rape end in death. You see it on the news

me: you trust everything you see on the news?

Rape? Yeah.

me: 25% chance of being raped in your life, 4% chance of it being by a stranger Death occurs in approximately 0.1% of all rape cases

Why are you defending rape? Lol

me: I'm not. i'm telling you there's no reason to be scared to ask someone to use their phone

me: how the fuck did you gather i was defending rape??
